About this project
Colinha helps collectors track the stickers they own, need and have duplicates of in the 2026 World Cup album. It runs in the browser and can be installed on a phone's home screen, with progress by national team and swap lists shared through WhatsApp.
The system combines a Next.js frontend with React, TypeScript and TanStack Query for data fetching and caching, and a Bun API built with ElysiaJS. Supabase provides PostgreSQL and authentication, with Row Level Security policies for collectors' data. The frontend and backend are hosted on Railway.
The scanner uses the phone's camera and the OpenAI API to recognize the code on the back of a sticker. Request and image-size limits work alongside idempotent quota confirmation: retrying an attempt does not charge it twice, and unrecognized images or provider errors do not consume the free allowance.
Monetization integrates AbacatePay checkout and webhooks, with backend-controlled entitlements for paid access and scanning. The system also supports referrals, affiliate conversion tracking and administrative queries for acquisition and engagement.
By September 2026, Colinha had attracted over 2.6K signups and helped 860 collectors organize more than 158K stickers. With a catalog of 994 stickers, it brings together what each person owns, needs and can swap, making the next step toward a complete album easier.
